Bulkheading

Erosion control along lake shoreline is essential to maintain existing property and to prevent undermining of lakeside trees. Over the past decade, shore erosion has escalated due to the ever increasing size of wake needed to wakeboard and surf behind boats. By driving sheet piles laterally tied back to battered “dead man” piles, TX Pile has reinforced miles of lake front property on the Highland Lakes. The metal sheeting and dead man system are only the structural elements for erosion control; wood or stone facing to match the house can easily dress up the appearance. Our years of experience bulkheading have made us the local experts on this construction method which gave us credibility to consult with the City of Austin and LCRA Friends’ of Lake Austin Committee on design for optimal wave mitigation and erosion control.
